Rules, Regulations & Requirements

LOGGER COMPETITION

• A valid operator’s licence must be presented at registration. No participant will be allowed to operate without proof of this licence.
• A maximum of four (4) competitors may be entered per company.
• Absolutely no alcohol consumption is permitted until the final logger has completed their run. Random testing will be conducted.
• All required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) must be worn at all times.
• All rules of the day must be followed without exception.
• Safety measures will be strictly enforced throughout the competition.
• Judges’ decisions are final.

CHAINSAW & WOOD CHOPPING COMPETITIONS

• Participation is at your own risk. All safety rules must be followed at all times – no exceptions.
• Competitors must be 18 years or older and must sign a waiver before competing.
• A maximum of four (4) competitors may be entered per company, per competition.
• Only ONE entry per person per competition.
• Safety gear is required: Safety helmet including eye protection and chaps are mandatory. No open-toed shoes permitted.
• Tie-breakers: Any tie will be settled with a sudden-death cut-off. The fastest cut wins the class, the loser of the cut-off places 2nd, and the next fastest time takes 3rd.
• Judges’ decisions are FINAL.
• Cutting rules: Each competitor must complete three cuts (DOWN–UP–DOWN) within the marked space on the log. Cutting outside the space, cutting through the side, wrong cutting order or failing to complete a cut will result in disqualification.
• Starting position: All competitors begin with the saw running, both hands placed on top of the log while standing. Timing starts when your hands leave the log.
• Important: No re-cuts will be allowed in this class.
